The golden Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii has for a long time been the chosen tropical playground for both the Hawaiian royalty of old and contemporary tourist from all around the world. Home to many important historical landmarks, the coast also houses some of America's best rated beaches, including the phenomenal Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area. The Kohala Coast has been voted one of the top fifty tropical resorts worldwide and anyone who has spent some time there could tell you why. The reasons why this tropical spot is chosen time and time again by people from all walks of life are easily grasped by any newcomers. The beautiful scenery and wonderful sunny weather combine in the Kohala Coast to produce a relaxing and beautiful retreat that few people would like to miss out on.

A true tropical paradise

More Luxury Than in the Best Hotels in San Francisco

Many people coming to the Big Island of Hawaii are naturally drawn towards the coast year after year. Whether you've come for a quick weekend to recharge your batteries from the busy life of your week or planned for a fantastic month on the islands, Kohala is worth at least a visit. Most who have spent time there would even recommend you to spend your full holidays on the warm embrace of its sunny beaches. People who's previous beach outings have consisted of small trips out of their hotels Los Angeles (like some of these here) swear that you haven't seen a proper beach until you arrive at Kohala. With its beautiful and expansive grounds, amazing beaches and, of course, all the pampering comforts that any self respecting high roller tourist could want, it's hard to find something not to like about the prospect of a holiday on the Kohala Coast.

Lofting the spa and golf courses is not all you can do. The most adventurous can try the very popular scuba-diving or perhaps snorkelling in the crystal clear waters if you would like something more conventional. There is plenty more to do in the blue ocean, things like riding the now classic glass-bottom boats to admire the sea flora and fauna, whale watching and windsurfing on the crashing waves are just a couple of the many fun activities you can have. There are other great pastimes available like fishing, horse-riding and hiking are available for those who want to man the trails and hills of the region or simply enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

If you love to play golf prepare to have a great time at the Kohala Coast. Amidst the charcoal lava fields sport enthusiasts can find several golf courses of international renown that will keep you busy throughout your holiday. Some have even mentioned that the coast is quite the golfer's dream because of the constant sunshine that keeps the courses open through out the year. This is actually one of the most famous characteristics of the Kohala Coast. You'll be enjoying the warm embrace of the sun as this is one of the few places in Hawaii that has sunshine all year round (some other parts are quite rainy.) So forget about spending your next vacations lofting around the hotels in San Francisco (even the great ones like these), and get ready for a true tropical holiday at the Kohala Coast.
