Cypress National Preserve
Although wildlife may not be as abundant along the Halfway Creek
Canoe Trail, the highlight along this trail is the tunnel of mangrove. When
paddling toward the Gulf this trail is marked and numbered in green, when
traveling away from the Gulf the trail is marked and numbered in red. Paddling
Time is approximately 4 hours one way.
Directions:
The Halfway Creek Canoe Trail is located in the southwest corner
of Big Cypress National Preserve and may be accessed about 2 miles east of the
junction of Hwy 29 & 41. Access is via Seagrape Drive located just west of
the Preserve headquarters.
