Big
Cypress National Preserve
This section of The Florida Trail travel approximately 28 miles
from Highway 41 across from the Big Cypress Visitor's Center to Interstate 75
(Alligator Alley) at the rest area at mile marker 63. This difficult section of
The Florida Trail passes through a variety of habitat types including pinelands,
prairies, cypress, and hardwoods. No water is available on this section during
the dry season, you must carry your own. This section receives little foot
traffic and may become overgrown with vegetation during the rainy season.
