Fire Prairie Trail

Big Cypress National Preserve

The 5.0 mile (round trip) Fire Prairie Trail begins approximately 14.0 miles north of Hwy 41 on Turner River Road (County Road 839) and follows an old oil road through cypress and hardwood and across open prairie to an old oil pad. The Fire Prairie Trail is elevated and therefore remains dry most of the year.

Directions:

I-75, FL-29 and US41 all travel through the Big Cypress National Preserve. The Big Cypress Visitors Center is located on US41 about half way between Naples and Miami.
