Bogue Chitto National Wildlife
Refuge
Located northeast of Slidell Louisiana the 36,000 acre
Bogue Chitto NWR is one of the most undisturbed swamplands in the country.
Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge offer hunting,
fishing, wildlife observation, hiking, camping, birding, wildlife
photography and canoeing.
To reach the southern tip of Bogue Chitto National
Wildlife Refuge take I-59 to Pearl River Turnaround, Exit 11. The fishing
area is reached by turning east, the Holmes Bayou Trail is reached by
turning west. The Refuge can also be accessed from Locks 1, 2, & 3 by
taking Highway 41 north of Slidell Louisiana. |
