Howells Point Trail

Howells Point Trail begins at Blue Water Point Marina located at the end of West 57th Place. The Trail follows Montgomery Slough Trail northward crossing the Intracoastal Waterway at approximately the 0.5 mile point, then follows the western shoreline of Sunset Harbor for about 0.5 mile. Howells Point Trail then turns westward crosses Lockwoods Folly River and follows the western shoreline of the river south. Between mile 3 and 4, the trail meanders through several marsh islands before it reaches the Intracoastal Waterway and intersects with Lockwoods Folly Trail. Howells Point Trail crosses the mouth of Spring Creek at the 2.1 mile point, and the creek offers another one-half mile side trip.

Near the intersection with Howells Point Trail at its 2.0 mile point, Howells Point Trail then follows Lockwoods Folly Trail to the Marina. The length of Howells Point Trail is 6.5 miles.
