Pamlico County North Carolina Paddle Trails

Spring Creek Area Trails

17.3 Miles
Moderate/Difficult

From the Spring Creek Access located on SR 1327, you can access the trails on Spring Creek, Long Creek, Bryan Creek, Dipping Vat Creek and Richardson Creek. The circuit around all of the creeks will provide an almost 17.5 mile outing, but the trails can be paddled in a variety of combinations.

Beginning at the Spring Creek Access, paddle down the creek following the right hand shoreline. At approximately the 2.0 mile point you will come upon the first smaller creeks, Ives and Bryan Creek. Continuing down the creek and approaching the mouth of Spring Creek in Bonner Bay you will paddle into Long Creek on your right. Exploring Long Creek will take you to such interesting places as Cow Gallus Gut, Deep Oak Gut, and Dipping Vat Creek.

You will then paddle back across the mouth of Long Creek and Spring Creek and continue back up Spring Creek to the access. Along the way you will have an opportunity to explore Richardson Creek as you make your way back to the access point.
