Pinckney
Island Wildlife Refuge
One of five islands which makes up the Pinckney Island Wildlife
Refuge the other islands includes Corn Island, Big Harry and Little Harry
Islands, Buzzard Island and numerous small hammocks. Pinckney is the
largest of the islands and the only one open to public use.
Directions:
From I-95, take SC Exit 8 and travel east on US Hwy. 278, toward
Hilton Head Island, approximately 18 miles to the refuge entrance on the left.
From Hilton Head Island, exit the island via US 278 west, and the refuge
entrance will be on your right approximately 0.5 mile. |
