South from Greenbackville Harbor Paddle

Be aware of power boat traffic as you explore the shoreline of
Chincoteague Bay near Greenbackville Harbor. From the Greenbackville Harbor Boat
Ramp paddle out of the harbor and past the breakwater and turn right
(Southwest) and head back toward the coastline. After passing the fringe marshes
that line the coast watch for Powell Creek and Swans Gut, both provide excellent
opportunities for coastal exploration, but access is limited by the tide.

To reach Greenbackville Harbor Boat Ramp from US13 travel 2.8
miles east along Route 175 and turn left onto Route 679. Continue 6.5 miles
along Route 679, turn right again on Route 679 for 2.8 miles and turn
right on Harbor Road. The boat ramp is located at the end of Harbor Road. |
