Island State Park
The Big Ferry Nature Trail is 3.0 mile loop which travel across
freshwater sloughs, past prohibition-era liquor stills, a Civil War mortar
battery and an observation tower. The Big Ferry Nature trail is located in the
588 acre Skidaway Island State Park.
Directions:
Skidaway Island State Park is located 6.0 miles southeast of
Savannah on the Diamond Causeway on Skidaway Island. Exit I-95 at exit 16/94 and
drive 12 miles toward Savannah. Turn right onto Montgomery Cross Road and
continue 1.4 miles to Whitfield Avenue. Turn right onto Whitfield Avenue which
becomes Diamond Causeway, continue 5.0 miles to the park entrance. |
